San Francisco, California(Hexa PR Wire–January 11, 2024)–CBS News in San Francisco, KPIX5, has welcomed the addition of Loureen Ayyoub to its news team. Ayyoub, an accomplished American news presenter, reporter, and spoken word poet, brings a diverse and rich background in journalism and storytelling to the station.
Loureen Ayyoub, a California native, has built a notable career in journalism and the arts. She holds a BA in Journalism & Intercultural Communications from Pepperdine University and an MA in International Relations from the University of San Francisco. Ayyoub’s experience includes working with ABC’s Good Morning America and CNN as a digital reporter. She has also served as an on-air reporter in Los Angeles and nationally for Spectrum News.
During her tenure at Spectrum News, Ayyoub periodically anchored the weekend news and was a specials correspondent for the Emmy-winning arts and culture show, SoCal Scene. She created the series “We Are One,” focusing on stories that unite divided communities. Ayyoub’s expertise in arts, entertainment, culture, and community storytelling has been recognized, including a nomination by the LA Press Club’s National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards for her coverage of Betty White’s life and legacy.
Ayyoub’s work extends beyond the borders of the United States. She traveled to Saudi Arabia to cover significant events like the boxing Heavyweight Championship of the World, interviewing key figures about global sports initiatives. Her humanitarian efforts include working in refugee camps in Jordan and Iraq, where she documented the stories of survivors of ISIS captivity. Her commitment to human rights storytelling earned her the Top 100 Women of Influence award by the Women’s Empowerment Expo, and recognition by the Mayor of West Hollywood.
Speaking both Arabic and Spanish, Ayyoub’s multilingual skills and international experiences enrich her reporting. Having lived in Jordan, Argentina, NYC, and San Francisco, she brings a broad perspective to her new role at CBS News.
As a lyricist and spoken word poet, Loureen’s unique poetic storytelling has both been broadcasted and performed live at notable venues like the United Nations and the National Press Club.
